Schmidtheads~ What a nice week we had Ehrich the kids and I spent a lot of quality time together this week ~ I had the entire week off!! it felt so good to be home with everyone for spring break.
 I think everyone is ready for school Monday ~ I know I am ready to back to work!! I love to be home but work is another part of my life I enjoy.
We celebrated Darin's birthday this weekend ~ he had a blast!! We had two pudding and berry pies, chocolate cake, Ice Cream and snacks ~ we got him an mp4 player (and a few other little things) ~ one of the items he was asking for. He had a game and movie night ~ they played games and wathched movies ate all night long... Ehrich and I had fun shopping for him and getting his birthday set up ~ we had a lot of kids over!!
My sister and her kids came over this weekend too ~ Ehrich, Sofia and I had a BLAST!!! One night we stayed up visiting until 2am visiting! then we finally hit the sack - Sofia had to sleep out in the living room... she said the cats were bugging her all night long ~ lol.
Brad and Darin will be going to visit family in California this summer from May to June ~ Mitchell, Dehrich and Karina will spend most of the summer with Ehrich and i but will also be visiting their papa Mitch and grandma June ~
Ehrich and I will be on our Harley!! woohoo!! this will be our first summer on the highway cruzing biker style!! and we are both looking forward to it!! I am a little nervous but I think we are just about ready!! Ehrich has been busy making sure we have the right gear to ride safley, The other day I came home to 2 pairs of boots Ehrich got for me; one pair brown and the other black ~ both Candies... and both biker style boots - lol, it felt funny wearing biker boots but it was also comfy ~ It is a big cool intimidating bike! something he just loves and that I am excited about and like I said before, a little nervous too~
 Today Ehrich is burning stuff - later we will take Karina out for a walk... it is finally warming up ~ feel great!! the sun is out until about 7:20pm.. and then starts going down ~ there is still snow on the ground but it is melting and the breeze smells like the beginning of spring!!!
Our family is still doing perfect with a little bit of spice too :)

PERFECT~Greetings everyone,
We are all doing perfect. Perfect life, perfect kids, perfect lovers, perfect problems, perfect solutions
 OK - fine, we are not perfect but it sure feels like it sometimes~
I LOVE WORKING and taking care of my family ~ sure, I wish I could stay home all the time... but, there is something fantastic about getting out in the work field knowing that you are able to be independent and provide for your children and family. I was lucky, I got to stay home with the babies while they were young and now I have a great paying job that can support all of us. I just feel so lucky sometimes ~ thank you LORD!
Ehrich is doing great! and says hello to all of the family
 he has been buying computers and fixing them up for us.....and I might add that he did excellent picking out what computers to get for all of us too. All the kids are healthy ~ still getting great grades... spring break is right around the corner so they get some time off next week ~ They are looking forward to that. I will take some paid time off so that I can spend time with them too. I think we are all ready for summer to begin.
ALL of us have been watching movies, playing music, doing homework, browsing the internet, cooking, talking, walking, driving, going to sports events, breaking up and going back out with girlfriends, having friends over or visiting them.... same stuff, different day :)
Fur Rondey just ended - we will go next year... kids were too busy this year.
Well, don't have much of an update - except that we are all doing perfect - heehee

~Family~ We have been pretty busy these last few weeks. The kids are still doing great ~ All of them are kickin' butt in school AND with playing their instruments - A's & B's. Last week I took videos of them playing together and attached a few of the videos to the "video" section of our page. Brad just had a Birthday a couple of days ago ~ WOW, 15 years old! Mitchell is right behind him at 14! Darin 13 almost 14 and Dehrich 11, Karina 10! The years are flying by now!! I still can't believe how quickly the kids learn and grow.
Ehrich and I are teenage
sweethearts and with our hearts still throbbing with love we are raising these kids!! We pretty much grew up with our kids too!! We've all learned so much together... It is cool because we communicate about everthing and drive around everywhere; we still experience so much together. I remember when we were younger; Ehrich would take me all over Spokane to all of these really cool places... once we *fell asleep*
in a cemetery, got locked in with his car and Ehrich had to cut a small tree down for us to drive the car out - they locked the gates on us not knowing we were parked . The last time we were in Spokane we drove by "our" cemetery to see if they replaced the stone they put there with a tree yet - the stone was still there; along with the line of trees. Ehrich would also take me to view Spokane at night ~ all the lights were so beautiful. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the Bowl and Spoon... I mean Pitcher (inside joke)!! We used to drive everywhere. Even when we moved to Kodiak, we drove every single road, side road...etc. on the island! Now we live here in the Valley and we still drive everywhere . Now it is our kids who are dating and falling in puppy love ~ and i am sure they will get to have the same types of life events we have all been though; traveling, mistakes, finding love, kids...etc. Since it seems like yesterday that my kids were babies... I am sure that the time will continue to fly by and our kids will be grown ups faster than we can teach them everything!!!
Yesterday, was Valentines Day ~ Ehrich got me a bundle of roses
 , a sweet teddy bear with a blinking heart that says I love you, a bouquet of heart-shaped lollypops and a musical card Every year he still gets me something and will call me at work during the day to tell me "happy valentines, my lovely valentine" or something similar ~ I am so very lucky ~ ~ yes, there are a lot of hearts in this blog, but it's only a few hours after Valentines Day and I am still feeling the "love"  Schmidtheads

And I must say that it was a marvelous day! when I got home from work, I came walking into an immaculately clean house! For my birthday the kids made sure to clean the house, do their homework, and cook dinner!!
This morning, Ehrich and I woke up early, made coffee and hopped on the road for a long commute to Anchorage. I think it took me about 15 minutes of driving in the car before I was sleeping! I woke up a few times to see the ditch divers/accidents ~ 2 hours 45 minutes later, quick peck on the lips and I'm off to work!
It was a pretty good day at work today too. Pretty much the same office stuff that I do every day, work with the managers - type, spreadsheets, type...etc.
Time to go home!! woohoo ~ As soon as Ehrich picked me up we headed for home. As we are driving home Ehrich asks if I want my birthday gift ~ he got me my most favorite set of beauty supplies
OK - so we get home and walk in the door to all of my darlings screaming HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!! hugs, kisses ~ and then they show me around the nice, clean, immaculate house
Then I see that they already made themselves chili dogs and corn too!! so we don't have to worry about dinner!
One of my very close friends invited Ehrich and I over to a birthday dinner! So we went over to her house later in the evening. She got me a really cool gem book, sea shells, and a card. Her granddaughter, also a very good friend of mine, made us Black Angus hamburgers with Brussels sprouts, sautéed onions, bell peppers and garlic, homemade macaroni and cheese, and for dessert she made a homemade cheesecake with berry sauce (with a little crown royal mixed in) it was one of the most delicious dinners I have ever experienced!! It was a really cool way to spend the birthday night too! with a few of my closest friends and the love of my life
Finally, we made it home for the evening! The kids were still awake getting ready for bed. We all visited and made toast with sugar and cinnamon. The boys have been going out with their current girlfriends for a while! so tonight we all talked about "cooling it" down. We also talked about teachers, subs, friends...etc. it was a good "evening family chat" before they needed to go to bed.
After the kids went to bed Ehrich made me a bath ~ lit some candles for me and told me to relax. It feels so good to soak in a nice hot bath at the end of a long, exhausting day.
Today and tonight were very good! I love life! and I am so greatful to have been born! and I celebrated it from beginning to end

~PSS~ I finally got the font to work schmidtheadsOK - the Schmidthead household is crazy cool! Tonight is our movie night!! we will make popcorn, drink juice, make dinner together and then, when it gets nice and dark and our tummies are full - we'll watch a movie. I think movie night is one of my favorite nights because we always have so much fun together visiting and getting excited to watch whatever we decide to watch ~ tonight we are going to watch "Resident Evil" 1, 2 and 3 (yes all 3). So it will be a movie marathon :). Yesterday, Ehrich and I had such a good time together - we spent the entire day with each other laughing and joking around. I think we have been falling in love with each other again (again, and again) I love it when we do that. We keep looking at each other all goofy and googly I can't believe that we have been with each other for 15 years!! our oldest son Mitchell is 14 years old already... I remember when Ehrich and I decided to stay with each other and move in with each other... Mitchell was just a baby then - so little and sweet smelling, always in my arms Ehrich was so determined ~ he drove all the way from Spokane to Alaska in just a couple of days to be with us. Boy I can still feel the excitement when I think about it ~ when he called me to let me know he finally made it to Alaska... and then we saw each other... it was one of the best days of our lives. One of his favorite stories he tells to friends - and I love listening to him tell it - he does a better job than I do. We have have our tough times though!! as all families do~ I think it has made us strong sticking through thick and thin together. Ehrich and I separated for a short time long ago when Mitchell was still in the oven ~ he tells me that I was on his mind all the time while we were apart... I did the same thing and thought about him too ~ it was pretty easy to fall back in love with each other as soon as we met back up - Spokane will always be special to us. Dehrich and Karina came a few years later while we lived in Kodiak!!! and our family was finally, almost complete! Dehrich came kicking and screaming in to this world just as determined as his daddy ~ and then wrapped us right around his finger with those most handsome dark brown eyes~ then came my sweet darling daughter Karina ~ daddies little girl. She came in quick and easy ~ she was such a good baby - happy and smiley, she is still that way... always smiling - just as bright as her beautiful green eyes. Next came Brad and Darin ~ Our hearts have combined ~ Brad is older than Mitchell, Mitchell is older than Darin, Savannah is older than Dehrich, Dehrich is older than Karina and Karina is and will always be the baby of our family ~ she will remain the youngest. Hey - I warned that we had a crazy, cool family~ |
